The Opportunity: Senior and Junior Consultants

ASI is seeking dedicated professionals for a total of 04 Consultant Posts (02 Senior Consultant and 02 Junior Consultant) on a contract basis for a period of one year (extendable). These roles will be based at the ASI Headquarters in New Delhi.

The selection criteria emphasize a strong academic background and relevant field experience, particularly in the niche area of underwater archaeology.

• Educational Qualification (Essential):

  • Master's Degree in Underwater Archaeology, Archaeology, or History (with a specialization in Ancient Indian History).

• Experience (Essential):

  • Senior Consultant: Minimum three (03) years of field experience in underwater archaeology/archaeology.

  • Junior Consultant: Minimum two (02) years of working experience in the field of underwater archaeology/archaeology.

• Age Limit: Maximum 56 years as of the last date of application.

• Desirable: Candidates with a Ph.D. in the relevant specializations are highly preferred.

• Knowledge: Applicants must have sufficient knowledge of computer applications like MS Office, GIS, editing tools, and photography.

The Role: What You'll Be Doing

As a Consultant in the Underwater Archaeology Wing, you'll be responsible for crucial tasks, including:

• Assisting in work pertaining to underwater archaeology, such as maritime trade, coastal sites, ancient ports, and shipwrecks.

• Supporting the organization of training programs in underwater archaeology.

• Aiding in the dissemination of research outputs through conferences, seminars, and digital platforms.

• Maintaining databases, project records, and assisting with administrative duties.
